I've always wanted a leather messenger bag that was high quality. I waited for years to find one of this quality. It’s beautiful and spacious on the inside. I also get a lot of compliments about it, wherever I go. Love Portland leather goods! This is my second purchase from them and I am quite pleased by both products. This is a high quality piece of leather goods that can be passed on from one generation to the next. I will admit that the bag makes me feel reminiscent of Indiana Jones. Lol

I was in the market for a proper, full-grain messenger bag for work. After weeks of shopping, I was having a hard time finding the right mix of weight, quality, aesthetic, and price. Then I found the PLG Classic XL and it got top marks in all categories. I adore this bag. Mine is in Canyon, and the pull-up properties are fantastic. Tons of character. If you don't like that immediate feedback on the face of the bag, Dakota or one of the other options might be a better bet. As far as the quality of the bag goes, I couldn't be more satisfied. It's simply a very well made bit of kit. I'm 6'7" and the strap is actually useful. My one complaint is the magnet closures, which I've never preferred, but that's a small drawback on what is overall a great package.

I gave this bag as a gift, and the recipient is over the moon! It's high-quality, incredibly beautiful, and he loves every little detail. For being a large, quality leather bag, it's not too heavy. Also, the recipient is very, very tall and the cross-body strap is long enough that the bag sits at a perfect height on his hip. We're both thrilled!

The Dakota bag is solid. It will probably last the rest of my hubby's life. It is too big for me personally. Is being used to hold hobby items like batteries, remote controllers etc for RC cars and planes
Bought the Classic XL Messenger bag in black for my husband. He was carrying a nice gray canvas bag, but this bag took it to a whole new level of elegance!! He absolutely loves it. The look and, of course, the smell of the leather! The bag is a little heavy to me, but it feels light to him, which is what matters since it isn’t my bag. lol. This was my way of introducing him to PLG!! It worked!!
